Foraging Napkins were completed as a personal project and sold on Etsy. The product was tongue-in-cheek, poking fun at the stuffy, obligatory social obligations we find ourselves in.
Each formal napkin has a different illustration of an edible plant along with culinary, medicinal, and cautionary information. If worse comes to worse, you can grab your napkin, take leave of your stodgy dinner and go forage some food for yourself.
To the obligations that enjoin us; normative and biological. The dinner party and its napkin: social convention steeped in a history of propriety, the sort that builds a civilization. Do we gather in social convention and bask in our collective civil progress, or rue the time contrived together, imagining a life lived differently?
